Full Size Pencil Drawing of a Female Bengal Tiger

Well it has taken me over two months to complete, 15 pencils, 8 feet of paper, 24 feet of frame moulding, 36 sq feet of glass and of course, a lot of patience! I had always dreamt of drawing a full size picture of a tiger for some years now, which is one of my favourite big cats, and was lucky enough to take a wonderful photo of this Bengal tiger sunning herself in the sun last year. I knew instantly that this was the right picture to draw and so set about the task of drawing her.

As with all pictures you need somewhere to exhibit them and I knew that because of the overall size, it had to be somewhere special. Well as fate would have it, the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation contacted me about their forthcoming “Art for Survival” auction in June 2004 at Christie’s in London. This would be the third time I will have exhibited at this event where the worlds leading wildlife artists come together to help raise desperately needed funds for the survival of the tiger, rhino and elephant. For more information please see www.artforsurvival.org

I will be publicising the drawing and auction over the next few weeks in various Magazines, TV and press along with LBC radio with Sandi Toksvig who has very kindly agreed to auction my picture at Christie’s on the 2nd June 2004. How do you follow up on this, well I have already started a full size elephant!
